JOB TITLE: Spiritual Life Educator

REPORTING TO: Head of School

COLLABORATES WITH: Director of Residential Life, Residential Caretakers

LOCATION: Amritsar, Punjab

Miri Piri Academy (MPA) is a renowned day and residential school nestled in the cultural capital of Punjab, Amritsar. Rooted in the teachings of Sikhism and dedicated to holistic education, we provide a nurturing environment where students and staff alike can flourish spiritually, academically, and personally.

PURPOSE:  To cultivate a supportive environment for first-year students at Miri Piri Academy through the "MPA Basics" curriculum and Kundalini Yoga classes. As Cohort Leader, provide guidance and support to students, ensuring their well-being and progress, while fostering personal growth and cultural understanding through communication with parents and collaboration with the residential team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and implement the first-year spiritual life curriculum, "MPA Basics," encompassing planning, teaching, and evaluation.

• Conduct Kundalini Yoga classes, fostering spiritual and physical well-being among students.

• Collaborate with the Director of Residential Life and Caretakers to schedule and coordinate student activities and trips.

• Serve as the Cohort Leader for first-year students, providing mentorship and guidance.

• Promote student well-being and progress through a supportive and inclusive approach.

• Maintain regular communication with parents to update them on student progress and address any concerns.
  

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.

• Minimum of Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training completed. 

• Strong leadership and communication skills.

• Experience developing and implementing educational programs.

• Knowledge of spiritual development and curriculum design.

• Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

• Commitment to student well-being and development.
