JOB TITLE: Director of Residential Life

REPORTING TO: Head of School

COLLABORATES WITH: Spiritual Program Director, Academic Program Director

OVERSEES: Residential Caretakers, Medical Coordinator, Counsellor, Kitchen Manager


LOCATION: Amritsar, Punjab

Miri Piri Academy (MPA) is a renowned day and residential school nestled in the cultural capital of Punjab, Amritsar. PURPOSE:  The Director of Residential Life is responsible for overseeing all aspects of residential life, including the caretakers, kitchen manager, medical coordinator, and counselor. This position requires strong leadership skills, a commitment to student wellbeing, and the ability to manage a diverse team.


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the residential life program, ensuring a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for all students.

  • Manage and support the residential team, including caretakers, kitchen manager, medical coordinator, and counselor.

  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to residential life, in accordance with school guidelines and best practices.

  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and communication within the residential community.

  • Serve as a liaison between students, staff, and parents regarding residential life matters.

  • Develop and implement programming to promote student engagement and community building within the residential community.

  • Manage budget and resources related to residential life, ensuring efficient use of resources.

  • Stay current on best practices and trends in residential life and student wellbeing.


SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in education, health, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.

  • Completed Level 1 Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training. 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing a residential setting. 

  • Strong leadership and management skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team.

  • Knowledge of best practices in residential life and student wellbeing.

  • Commitment to creating a safe and supportive environment for students.

  • Experience working in an educational setting preferred.
